24 Hour pH Study with Impedance
24 hour pH study with impedance measures the frequency and severity of acid reflux over a 24 hour period. We use catheters that also test for bile reflux. This is performed in our rooms.
It involves the placement of a catheter through the nose into the oesophagus. The tube will be visible on your face and secured with an adhesive on your cheekbone. Topical anaesthetic (Lidocaine spray) is administered prior to commencing the insertion which decreases sensations in the nose and in the back of the mouth.
