For all referrals call 03 94506800 and talk to our friendly staff.

They are happy to help you with all of your enquiries.

Please let them know if you have a patient with an urgent problem and a doctor will see them either in rooms or if an emergency, may arrange admission to hospital.

Weight Loss Surgery Patients

Please provide the patient with a referral and any relevant information that will assist the surgeon.

Bariatric Surgery is only performed at VOSC on patients with Private Health Insurance, with cover for the procedure in a Private Hospital.

If your patient does not have/ doesn't want to take out Private Health Insurance, they should be referred to either the Austin Hospital or Box Hill Hospital.

General Surgery Patients

Please provide the patient with a referral and any relevant information that will assist the surgeon.

Patients with Private Health Insurance will be placed on a theatre list, usually within a week. There is a small fee for the procedure.

Public patients requiring general surgery can be operated on by Mr Skidmore at Sandringham Hospital. There is no surgical fee for these operations.

Please note that we do not perform Cancer surgery in the Public system.
